I use teamviewer for some tech support when consulting on my own. I am running it on my Apple Mac, which has an I7, 16 GB of RAM and I use virtualbox for VM's, which has all of my VM's.

I recommend downloading the Elementary OS ISO image and loading it up in a Virtual box. Elementary OS is a linux distribution for beginners. https://elementary.io/
